A gentle seafront cycle ride

Realistically I had worn myself out last week –  I had been trying to get fit too quickly taking advantage of the sunny weather.  So I had a few quiet days followed by two days of gentle  activity – a beautiful 8 mile walk on the prom at Worthing and then a gentle gym session on Friday.

Feeling more energetic this morning I ventured out down to the Brighton Seafront and cycled along to Worthing and back on my MTB with mud tyres.  Going out was easy – the coming back was much harder into hellish gusty winds, even in the glorious sunshine. All told it was 25 miles in about 2:20 – something to build on.

And to cap it off Val and I took advantage of the beautiful late afternoon sun and had a 4.5 mile stroll around Hill Barn and up to Cissbury Ring (one of my favourite places) and we then topped it off with a brief walk along the seafront at Worthing – bliss.
